Showpage FAQ
Straight answers about Showpage, the TV show and movie tracker for Apple devices.
What is the best TV show tracker app for iPhone?
It depends on what you want. If you want a fast, private tracker that works on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV, Showpage is built for that: Up Next shows the next episode of every show you watch, one tap marks it watched, Where to Watch shows which services carry it, and it syncs through your own iCloud with no account, ads or tracking. It also syncs both ways with Trakt (Pro) and imports TV Time exports. If you want a big social community with comments and reviews, Trakt and Serializd are built around that; if you also track books and games, Sequel covers those.
What is a good TV Time alternative?
TV Time shut down on July 15, 2026. Showpage is a TV Time alternative for Apple devices: it tracks shows and movies with an Up Next list, upcoming episodes, a watchlist, stats and Year in Review, and it can import the watched episodes from a TV Time data export file if you saved one. Other options include Trakt, Showly, Sequel and Serializd; see TV Time alternatives for a side-by-side comparison.
Can I import my TV Time history into Showpage?
Yes, if you have a TV Time data export (the .zip or .csv file TV Time sent when you requested your data). In Showpage, open Settings, choose Import from TV Time and pick the file. No TV Time login is needed, and the import is free. Showpage can't fetch history from TV Time itself, so you need the export file.
How do I track shows with Trakt on a Mac?
Install Showpage on your Mac (it's a native Mac app, macOS 14 Sonoma or later), open Settings, choose Trakt and sign in on Trakt's website. Importing your Trakt history (watched, watchlist, ratings) is free; ongoing two-way Trakt sync, so episodes you mark on your Mac show up on Trakt and the other way round, is part of Showpage Pro. The same purchase covers iPhone and iPad.
Is there a Trakt app for Mac?
Trakt's official apps are for iPhone, iPad, Android and Apple TV. Showpage is a third-party app that works with Trakt and runs natively on Mac as well as iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV. Showpage uses Trakt but is not endorsed or certified by Trakt.
What app tells me what to watch next?
Showpage's Up Next is a poster shelf of the shows you're watching with the next unwatched episode of each, so you always know what's next. Tonight lists new episodes of your shows for today and the next 6 days. To find something new, Discover shows trending and popular shows and movies (from Trakt) with mood filters such as Funny, Tense, Feel-Good, Mind-Bending, Dark, Comforting and Epic, and Pro adds a predicted score learned from your own ratings and an Up Next time filter ("I have 30 minutes").
Is Showpage free? How much is Showpage Pro?
Showpage is free to download. Free includes unlimited shows and movies, Up Next, Upcoming, Tonight, Discover, Where to Watch, two custom lists, ratings, rewatches and watch dates, TV Time and Trakt imports and iCloud sync. Showpage Pro is $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year (each with a 1-week free trial for new subscribers), or $39.99 once for Lifetime Pro, a one-time purchase with no subscription (US prices; other countries vary). One purchase covers iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, with Family Sharing.
Does Showpage track movies as well as TV shows?
Yes. Movies have their own pages with cast, crew and where to stream, rent or buy, plus a Watchlist and a Watched history with dates and rewatches.
Does Showpage work on Apple Watch and Apple TV?
Yes. The Apple Watch app (part of Pro) shows Up Next and Airing Soon, marks episodes watched in one tap, offers a quick rating and has complications. There is also an Apple TV app. Showpage needs iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14, watchOS 10 or tvOS 17 or later.
Does Showpage sync between iPhone, iPad and Mac?
Yes, through your own iCloud account, for free. You can also keep your library on one device only. Pro adds two-way Trakt sync if you use Trakt.
Can Showpage tell me where to stream a show or movie?
Yes. Where to Watch lists the streaming services that carry a title and where to rent or buy it, using the Streaming Availability API by Movie of the Night. With Pro, Showpage can alert you when titles on your Watchlist arrive on or leave the services you use.
Does Showpage show whether a show is renewed or cancelled?
Yes. Shows get plain-English status badges such as Returning series, Awaiting renewal, In development, Ended and Cancelled, and the show page has a status card.
Does Showpage collect my data?
No. Showpage has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your library stays on your devices and syncs through your own iCloud. Trakt sync is optional and off until you connect it. See the Privacy Policy.
Where does Showpage get its data?
TV show, episode, cast and schedule data comes from TVmaze (CC BY-SA 4.0). Movie data comes from TheTVDB and Trakt. Trending and popular lists come from Trakt. Streaming availability comes from the Streaming Availability API by Movie of the Night.
Does Showpage have stats or a Year in Review?
Yes, with Pro: hours watched, rewatches, top genres and networks, streaks and a Year in Review with cards you can share. Stats are computed on your device.
Is there a Letterboxd for TV shows?
Letterboxd focuses on films and doesn't support ongoing TV series. Serializd is a social, review-focused TV app often described as "Letterboxd for TV". Showpage is a private tracker rather than a social network: you can rate shows, movies and individual episodes, keep ranked lists you can share as an image or text, and (with Pro) see your highest-rated episodes, but there are no public profiles or comments.
